World War One The image of trench warfare on the Western Front has relegated this period to an also ran at GDWS with few games appearing on the society's tables. However, the fronts where warfare was more open do have their adherents and the Russian and Salonika campaigns have been refought using PoW and Great War Spearhead (GWS) rules. A prelude to WW1 were the Balkan Wars of 1912-13 and the battles of this conflict have appeared at the society. The action at Kosturino 1915 is one scenario refought at GDWS using GWS rules. More recently Warhammer Historical The Great War rules have made an appearance and a number of games played using 28mm figures. |
