Carronade 2026
The show will be held at a new venue, Falkirk High School, Westburn Ave, Falkirk, FK1 5BZ, on Saturday 6 June 2026. The GDWS participation game will be the Battle of Banja Luka 1737, the key battle in the Bosnian campaign during the Austro-Ottoman war of 1737-39. Dave Soutar
Sad news that our former Chair, Dave Soutar, has passed away. Dave stepped down as Chair at the last AGM due to his health, and he had been seriously ill for some time. Dave was deeply involved in our hobby, having worked in it, collected, and played for many years. Our thoughts and condolences are with Kathleen and the family. 
Claymore 2026
Claymore 2026 will take place on Saturday, 1st August, from 10am at Granton Campus, Edinburgh, EH5 1QE. GDWS will be there with a 28mm participation game, the Battle of Grocka 1739. Model and Hobby Show
The Mackinnon Mills, Model and Hobby show will be held on 12th and 13th September 2026. GDWS will have a stall, introducing visitors to the hobby on both days. Mad About Models
The 'Mad About Models' Super Sunday open day was held at Bridgeton Bus Garage with the GVVT vehicle collection and added attractions. GDWS was there with a stall, including a 'Pillage' participation game. Dale Bilsland
Some very sad news. Dale Bilsland, one of our longest serving members and a past-Chair of the society, has passed away. He was well known across the hobby in Scotland. RIP Dale.

At Claymore 2025, GDWS was there with a 28mm participation game, Suvorov Coming! based on the Battle of Rymnik, 22 September 1789. Part of the Russo-Ottoman War 1787-92. And we won a wee prize!
