GDWS is the home of wargaming in Glasgow since 1969. This site tells you all about the society - what we do and when we meet. You can also browse through our extensive collection of display games that highlights the very best this fascinating hobby has to offer.
The 2023-24 meeting schedule has now been published. We will be running a series of themed open days this coming year, so watch this space.
Non-members are welcome to come and use our tables, mats and extensive scenery collection. Ideal for those longer games as we are open from 12:30 to 17:30. The table fee is £5 per player.
The next big wargames show in Scotland is Carronade at Falkirk on Saturday, May 4, 2024. 10am to 4pm. The show will be held at Graeme High School Callander Road, Falkirk FK1 1S. GDWS will be there with a game based on the Cyprus conflict of 1974. 50th anniversary this year.
Duncan MacLeay Memorial Napoleonic Open Day
Our 2024 Napoleonic Open Day will be held on Sunday 30 June 2024. This is also a tribute to our former member, Duncan MacLeay, who kindly left a bequest to the Society in his will for such events. All are welcome and clubs and groups are encouraged to organise games on a Napoleonic theme. Contact the Secretary for details.
We also have a Facebook Group, for operational postings - discussing and organising games etc.
